Digital radiography is a type of X-ray imaging that uses digital X-ray sensors to replace traditional photographic X-ray film, producing enhanced computer images of teeth.  Digital radiographs can be viewed immediately and enhanced easily which can provide better contrast and detail.  They are easily transmitted electronically to dental offices without a loss of quality.  One additional benefit is that digital x-rays reduce radiation exposure 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of conventional x-rays.
