ELLEN R. OERTEL, DDS, MS
Dr. Ellen Oertel grew up in the Tri-Cities and is a graduate of Colonial Heights High School. She attended James Madison University and graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Medical Technology. She worked in microbiology at MCV for four years before entering dental school. After graduating from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1992, Dr. Oertel practiced as a general dentist in Dinwiddie County for 11 years. Her next pursuit was an endodontic specialty residency at Virginia Commonwealth University, which she completed and simultaneously earned a Masters degree in 2005.
Dr. Oertel is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Southside Component.
In her spare time, Dr. Oertel dabbles in dog training, is an avid gardener, rides her bike, and hikes the trails whenever the weather is good, and her bad weather hobby is knitting.
