Meet Dr. Crossen

Dr. Daniel Crossen

Daniel Crossen, DMD, MS.

Dr. Crossen went to elementary school in West Knoxville. His family moved to Washington State, but his heart never left East Tennessee and he is happy to be back! He went to dental school in Florida and practiced as a general dentist for four years. It was there that he realized his passion for endodontics and was accepted into residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

While there, he was mentored daily by some of the most renowned endodontists in the world, including Eric Rivera, Peter Tawil, and Ashraf Fouad. While most endodontic programs are two years, Dr. Crossen completed a three-year program at UNC, which allowed more exposure to and experience in the most difficult cases, advanced surgical techniques, trauma, and sedation in a hospital setting. During that time, Dr. Crossen’s research on bone healing following endodontic microsurgery received the prestigious Dr. Shizuko Yamauchi Endodontics Graduate Student Award, as well as a grant from the AAE Foundation for Endodontics. His research was published in the Journal of Endodontics and can be found here

Dr. Crossen is happily married to his wife Audrey. They have four wonderful daughters and spend as much time as possible hiking in the Smokies. They also enjoy being on the water, going to the zoo, Ijams, the greenways, and all of the other wonderful outdoor activities available in the area. When the weather keeps him inside, Dr. Crossen also enjoys playing music, tinkering with his 3-D printer, and playing games with friends and family. Dr. Crossen has a firm belief that faith and family are the most important things in this life. With every patient, he treats them as he would his own family. During treatment, he strives to exceed expectations in both quality and comfort and hopes that he can turn an experience that is often dreaded into one that is remembered as relaxing and relieving.
